「The Uncaging of a Paper Craneには2024年から2025年までのpetalheadの軌跡を詰め込みました。このアルバムにはpetalheadの「今まで」と「これから」の二面が込められています。
2024年の「Springs to Life」「Kakera」といったアコースティックな響きをメインとしていた今まで、2025年、「果実を好きなだけ」や「ゲームキーパー」といった、デジタルとアコースティックの融合を目指したこれから。二年の間に訪れた閃きや挑戦、見出したアイデンティティ。そんな小さな一つ一つが10曲となり、また一つの物語となりました。この物語を味わいながら、次に続く章を楽しみに待っていただけたらと思います。」(petalhead リクより）

The theme of this first album is inseparable from the symbolism of its name. When we began composing these songs in 2024, we could not have foreseen the direction our work would take. 感情の揺らぎや日常の美しさをささやかに掬い上げる、東京拠点のインディーポッププロジェクトpetalhead（ペタルヘッド）。ジェイミー（vo/gt/violin）とリク・オグラ（gt/producer）によるユニット。Steely Dan、Joni Mitchell、大貫妙子、坂本龍一など70年代の音楽に影響を受けつつ、哲学や美術を背景に、詩的で内省的な世界を日本語と英語で紡ぐ。
petalhead is a Tokyo-based indie “experimental pop” duo and project created by Jaime (vo/gt/violin) and Riku Ogura (gt/producer). Influenced by 1970s artists like Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Taeko Onuki, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, their music blends Japanese and English lyrics to tell poetic, introspective stories rooted in philosophy and art.
